Building Our Home of Long Island Since 1981.

45 years of deep foundations, marine bulkheading, SOE, and concrete across Nassau and Suffolk County from the same Seaford address.

Services for Every Commercial Foundation Need

Most contractors say they know Long Island, MBI is based here. We’re headquartered in Seaford and we’ve been working Nassau and Suffolk County sites since 1981 - the barrier island soils, the Great South Bay waterfront, the North Shore bedrock, the tidal conditions along the Sound. We know this ground because we live on it.

A contractor who doesn’t know Long Island geology is guessing at the scope, and that guess shows up in change orders once the job starts. MBI quotes what the job actually costs from day one with no lowballing or change orders. That’s how a family-owned business stays in business for 45 years.

Deep Foundations & Piling

North Shore bedrock and South Shore barrier island soils aren’t the same job. MBI works with your engineers to spec and install CFA piles, FDP piles, driven piles, or drilled caissons based on the soil report and load requirements for that specific Long Island site.

Commercial Marine Construction

MBI installs and repairs bulkheads, seawalls, piers, and fender systems across Long Island’s coastline - the Great South Bay, the Sound, the Atlantic-facing barrier islands, and the tidal inlets in between. Every system is designed around the tidal range and saltwater exposure of that specific site.

Excavation & Site Work

We self-perform all excavation - mass, rock, environmental remediation, and site drainage - with our own equipment and crews across Nassau and Suffolk County. No subcontractors, no handoffs.

Support of Excavation (SOE)

Every SOE system is engineered to the load conditions, soil type, and proximity constraints of that specific Long Island site. Soldier pile and lagging, steel sheet piling, and tieback anchors - nothing generic.

Concrete Superstructures

From concrete slabs and columns to walls and structural frames, MBI handles the full vertical scope for commercial and industrial buildings across Long Island with the same crew and standard throughout the entire process.

Marine Barge & Equipment Rentals

Long Island contractors working the Great South Bay, the Sound, or any of the coastal inlets can rent the same sectional barges and marine transport equipment MBI runs on its own projects, maintained to the same standard and available for platform work, equipment moves, and waterfront access.

Frequently
Asked Questions

How do coastal conditions on Long Island affect foundation and marine construction work?

Long Island projects are heavily influenced by tidal movement, saltwater exposure, and shifting coastal soils, especially along the South Shore and barrier islands. That impacts how marine bulkheading, piling systems, and deep foundations are designed to perform over time.

Sites near the Great South Bay or tidal inlets often involve soft soils, water intrusion, and access challenges. That affects everything from excavation and SOE construction to marine piling and bulkhead installation.

Long Island sites often involve more coastal exposure, groundwater management, and variable soil conditions, while still requiring precision in piling, sheet piling, and excavation support systems.

On waterfront sites, access from the land isn’t always enough. That’s where barge access and marine equipment are used to move materials, support marine construction, and position equipment along the shoreline.

MBI isn’t just familiar with Long Island, we’re based here. We’ve been handling deep foundations, marine bulkheading, and SOE construction across Nassau and Suffolk County for decades with our own crews and equipment. We price the job based on what’s actually in the ground, not what it looks like on paper.
